Apex Legend’supcoming seasonShockwaveis set to switch things up with a new map, Akimbo weapons, and lots of balance changes. While there’s no new Legend to look forward to, this seasonal update hopes to bring major gameplay improvements.

The online shooter’s next season kicks off on August 6, and will also offer new players a chance to learn the game in better ways and have the chance to earn a Welcome Pass.

Reviving Teammates Will Work Differently Going Forward

The biggest feature that will set this season apart from the previous ones is how reviving teammates works. WithShockwave, players can now respawn without the use of respawn beacons or banners.

Instead, players can automatically come back from an unfortunate death after some time as long as a teammate is alive. There’s a twist to this though, as the timer for this will evolve as the match progresses.

The change completely overhauls how respawning works inApex Legends, and This will apply to the game’s Trios mode. We’re yet to hear more about how this mechanic will expand into different modes overtime.

In addition to this, the next season will also bring a variety of improvements to different aspects of the game, including the introduction of a brand new Cyberpunk-themed map E-District.

Apex Legends: Shockwave Aims to Revitalize the Game

The game’s official blogpostexpands on the different changes players can expect from the game next season. Other than how respawning works, players can now get a better Battle Sense.

This is a qualify of life improvement where opponents’ health bars are showcased through a better interface. Enemies will be highlighted in red for better visibility, improving visibility.

Along with the introduction of a stylish new map, players will now be able to dual-wield certain weapons by entering“Akimbo mode”. This is an exciting touch to how pistols otherwise feel, and new players can expect to try out different playstyles.

Speaking of which, newcomers are in for a treat this season. Given how complexApex Legendscan be for new players, the upcoming season will bring in two user-friendly ways of getting into the game.

Firstly, the new Bot Royale mode will allow players to play against AI-controlled enemies with the assistance of bot squadmates (if they choose to have them). Secondly, new players will receive a Welcome Pass that’s a bit different from the usual Battle Pass.

The Welcome Pass wishes to warm up newApex Legendsplayers with a set of challenges that help them learn the foundational skills required to dominate the arena. Upon completion of these tasks, they’ll be rewarded with Legend Tokens that can be used to unlock any new Legend of their choice.
