Star Wars Outlawsis an upcoming original project developed by Ubisoft. The gaming community is eager to see what the team could do with the source material and establish an original story set during one of the most intense and best eras during the Galactic Civil War.

Julian Gerighty once mentioned thatthere will be no dull moment inStar Wars Outlawsand something will happen that will force the gaming community to make certain decisions under timed pressure. Players can either engage or flee from the scene.
In arecent interview, Gerighty shared how the team decided when this game would take place.
Almost on day one it was decided we were original trilogy,
Gerighty continued that this story would show a different side to the beloved trilogy that was never addressed in the films.
We were set between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. And from then on, I don’t worry about anything else. It is telling a new story with familiar touch points. It’s a scoundrel story, so maybe you’re not going to meet people who don’t really belong in a scoundrel story. Leia might not make sense, but Qi’ra, Jabba the Hut, Lando… absolutely. You don’t want the galaxy to feel too small by just doing the greatest hits of all the Star Wars characters.
The protagonist will be an original character with nothing to do with the Skywalker Saga. Kay Vess will bea worm’s eye view of the galaxy.

Ubisoft is not using the original trilogy as a crutch but means to add more to the lore. Other spinoff projects, like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, had a similar experience by taking place between Episode 4 and filling in the gaps.
