She was hit with a stroke at the age of 20, which was terrifying on its own, as she shared,“I had a stroke when I was 20. It was kind of a freak thing.”
Sharing how she felt at the time, she continued,
The right side of my body stopped working, I looked down at my arm and I was like: ‘Whose arm is that? It’s not connected to my body.’ I wasn’t able to talk, I had expressive aphasia for the next couple days.
The actress was feeling a frenzy over her condition. However, she revealed that her friends were taking her condition lightly, thinking that she was kidding.

Aubrey Plazawent on to add that her stroke almost ended up landing her then-boyfriend in jail. Revealing that while she was unable to say some words, there were some that she couldn’t stop uttering. She added,
When I was in the hospital they kept asking me how old I was. My older, much older boyfriend at the time was there with me kind of fielding these questions from the doctors. And every time they asked me how old I was I would go ’16’ which was the only number I could say, I don’t know why.
She continued that her then-older boyfriend tried to correct them by telling the real age, but her light-hearted re-telling of the story focused much on her stroke incident. However, mistakenly saying 16, she almost caused trouble for her ex-boyfriend, leading to potential legal complications.
