We already knew thatControlwas planned to get DLC after launch, but as of today, we now know more specifically what to expect of the game in the coming months.

Remedy Entertainment this morning released the content roadmap forControlthat will carry the game into 2020. Of the new arrivals planned inControlbefore the end of the year, a photo mode is now officially planned to arrive at some point this fall before a new game mode, called Expeditions, will be landing in December. Remedy describes Expeditions as a “challenging new end-game mode in which Jesse must help Security Chief Arish explore the mysterious Formation and its strange surroundings.” Both of these add-ons will be completely free, too.

As we get into 2020, the first actual expansions forControlwill start to arrive. The first, planned for release in the early portion of the year, is being called The Foundation. This story-based expansion will focus on the history of the Oldest House and will see Jesse journeying below the bureau to see what lies beneath.

By far the most intriguing add-on here though is that ofControl’sfinal expansion, called AWE, which will release in mid-2020. Remedy is being very tight-lipped about AWE and purely said it will just see Jesse exploring the Investigations Sector. However, if you look at the image above teasing AWE, you’re able to see that it’ll clearly somehow involveAlan Wake.

As you’re able to see in the picture above, the top half of the letters “AWE” in the expansion’s poster is a callback to the box art ofAlan Wakewhere we see Alan holding a flashlight in a foggy wooded area. The lower half looks to feature Jesse floating around somewhere. We aren’t sure specifically what AWE will entail, but Alan Wake himself seems like he’ll be involved.

Without spoiling too much, this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise if you’ve already playedControl. The game has manyeaster eggs that point toAlan WakeandControltaking place in the same world. Just how far this crossover will continue to go though remains to be seen, but I know I sure am thrilled to see what Remedy is cooking up.

As of now,Controlis available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Feel free toread our review of the gameif you haven’t already.
