While Alan Wake 2 might be one of the most decorated games released last year, did you know the game hasn’t even broken even yet? However, it seems to be on track to do soon according to Remedy.

Alan Wake 2 Still Not Generating Royalties For Remedy

In its latest quarterly financialreport, Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala mentioned that Alan Wake 2 “had recouped most of its development and marketing expenses " and that they have not generated any royalties from the horror game just yet, which is surprising. No actual development and marketing budgets were divulged, nor was the number of units sold Remedy needs to hit in order to make Alan Wake 2 profitable.

In the same report, Virtala announced that Remedy is preparing to self-publish in 2025, stating, “In August, we made a strategic partnership agreement with Annapurna, which ensures we can develop Control 2 into a great game. It also allows us to move into self-publishing and expand our game franchise to other mediums such as television and film.”
