Unfortunately, some fans took the story seriously and spread the news across various social media platforms. The website wrote in their satirical article:

A conservative Facebook page posted the news without realizing it was a satire. The now-deleted post garnered many supporters forThe Expendablesactor.Reutersfact-checked the information and confirmed its satirical nature. According to them, fans flooded the comment section of the post with support for Sylvester Stallone, stating things like,“A real man who can’t be bought,” “Smart man,”and“Love him even more !!”

Stallone, who starred in theRockyandRamboseries in the ’80s and ’90s, is widely celebrated as a symbol of machismo in Hollywood. The deliberate inclusion of Stallone’s name in the satirical piece appears to play on his tough-guy image.
