Silent Scopeis apersonal favorite of mine, as it’s one of the earliest games I attempted to speedrun. It’s also a fun,arcadey snipe-em-up, even if you aren’t rocking the plastic sniper rifle in the arcades.
As an arcade game,Silent Scopeisn’t focused on realism, putting players squarely in the action without any fancy mechanics. That said,bullets have travel time, and the speed and direction you’re traveling will affect where your shot lands.
This is especially noticeable on the highway stage, as you must aim to the side if your target is driving around a corner. Gameplay-wise,Silent Scopeis very different fromSniper Elite, with a more contemporary ‘Hollywood’ vibe. That said,precision shots are rewarding, and the game is surprisingly tough with its strict time limit.
7Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4is an incredibleopen-world first-person shooter. you may tackle most objectives any way you please, and the title boasts one of the genre’s mostevil but oddly charismatic antagonists.
Far Cry 4makes the list because of its approach to level design, particularly Stronghold Liberations. The game doesn’t tell you how to clear the area. Instead, it tells you where it is, and you canfigure the rest out for yourself.
You canstroll in loud and proud, but if you’re a fan of sniping, you can have an incredible time popping heads from a distance while your prey panic and try to find you. If yougrab an M-700 and slap a suppressor on it, I dare you not to have a good time with that thing.
If you enjoy the gameplay loop ofFar Cry 4, you’re in luck, as most titles in the series afterFar Cry 3play pretty similarly.

In a similar vein toFar Cry,post-apocalyptic Oregonis your playground inDays Gone. At least, if you ignore the zombies.
I use the term ‘playground’ loosely, as the world ofDays Goneis full of horrible creatures andpeople who are even worse. The story inDay’s Goneis enjoyable once it gets going, but the game makes the list because of its approach to combat and objectives.
You’re free totackle hazards as you see fit, but a sniper rifle is always a solid choice against enemies of the human variety. You can clear out the most dangerous threats in any camp from a vantage point, andthe game is in third person, just likeSniper Elite.
You’re also spoiled for choice of rifles. I’m a sucker forthe .50 BFG, but all sniper rifles are deadly, and you can even use a crossbow for stealth engagements.

Escape From Tarkovis one of themost intense multiplayer gameson the market, and you may lose plenty of time and resources to a single mistake. AsEFTis aPVP extraction shooter, you may think it’s entirely different fromSniper Elite, and that used to be true until quite recently.
Escape From Tarkovnow has a PVE modethat never wipes, unlike the traditional PVP format. This means you can now complete quests and progress without even locking eyes with another real player, unless they are your teammate.
Ballistics andweapon customizationinEFTare some of the best in the genre,including sniper rifles, andsniping is grounded in realism. Maps are expansive, and quests will challenge you to learn and navigate all of them. I adoreEFT,but it’s admittedly pretty rough around the edges.
If you’re willing to look past the game’s shortcomings, there’splenty to enjoy as a sniper, including several marksman-related questlines.

Sniping is just one piece of the epicPhantom Painpuzzle, but it’s a viable way to play and will feel familiar toSniper Eliteplayers thanks to the perspective.

The Contracts titles are more linear than the numberedGhost Warriorgames, which I enjoy, hence the recommendation. You may prefer the original three games if you like the open-world approach.
Honestly,the AI is a bit of a menacein the older games, and enemies can sometimes spot you miles away like they have thermal vision. Fortunately,this is less of an issue inContracts 2.

I adore sniping inGhost Recon Wildlandsbecauseit’s difficult. It’s clear a lot of effort went into long-distance shooting mechanics. You are a threat, even 500+ meters from your target, butyou must work for those kills.
The game is in third-person, and you can get your grubby mitts on some impressive long-range weaponry, including the HTI,an anti-vehicle rifle.
Wildlands boastsover a dozen sniper riflesand plenty of attachments to play with. Sniping is challenging and rewarding, and it’s a title you shouldn’t ignore if you enjoy picking your enemies off from a distance.

Sniping inHitmanfeels terrific, and there’s even a special accolade available for every level called ‘Sniper Assassin.’ It’s tough to earn, but the joy ofHitmanis learning the maps and figuring out where you can pull off your shots. Once you snipe your target out of a race car in Miami,you’ll be hooked.
There’s even aSniper Challenge side activity, where you try to score points by completing long-range objectives from safety. There are only three maps for the mode, buttheattention to detailis mindblowing.
