7 Days to Diereleased its 1.0 update about a month ago now. From its alpha stages in 2013, this project has come a long way to leave early access. The zombie survival crafting game continues to satisfy tens of thousands of players daily.

However, despite being around for so long and maintaining a consistent playerbase, the game is still missing a crucial feature. One you might expect to be in at this point but fans are looking to mods to fix this issue.

The Missing Component – 7 Days to Die

The Fun Pimps have been developing and polishing this project for over a decade now. From the humble beginnings at Kickstarter to over 18 million copies sold so far,the team have successfully created a first-person zombie survival game.

Mixing in other genres like tower defense and RPG elements, the game lacks a basic feature most multiplayer games have today. An auto-run is still missing from7 Days to Die.

This has been a problem for years now and The Fun Pimps have not added it yet. PC players have found their own fix by adding mods or running a script to remedy this issue.

Console players on the other hand do not have this kind of luxury and must accept the fact there is no auto-run feature. For long lasting quests, players still have to hold forward to make progress.

7 Days to Die – The Journey So Far

The folks at The Fun Pimps began the project in July 2013 through Kickstarter. The goal was set for $200,000 with a group of veteran video game developers who each averaged over 14 years of experience.

The goal was smashed, raising over $500,000 by the end of its campaign.The7 Days to Diealpha launched later that year in December. It has stayed consistent as a go-to survival zombie game. Crafting mechanics and tower defense aspect has kept players coming back for years.

The missing auto-run feature is still bizarre. While fans have created mods for this feature, there’s no excuse for why The Fun Pimps have not added it yet.

Players are still clocking in thousands of hours into the game. Maybe the team is fine with the mods and see no reason to implement it themselves. Still, having an auto-run in the settings would be helpful for newer players. Are you still waiting for the auto-run feature? Let us know in the comments what you think!
