We are still halfway through 2025, and I know you have already put your wallet to work because we have had incredible experiences – such asClair Obscur: Expedition 33,Monster Hunter Wilds,Split Fiction,The Alters, andDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach– and the launch of a brand-new console, the Nintendo Switch 2.

I have only gotten a chance to play half of all of that, and everything else has joined my gigantic backlog (I know that you can relate to that). But guess what?

2025 Hidden Gem Games

We already have new, incoming waves of amazing games throughout the rest of the year, giving no rest to our poor wallet.

10 Best Hidden Gem Games Of 2025 (So Far)

This year has been amazing so far, meaning some indie hits have slipped through the cracks.

So, from remakes and long-awaited sequels to new and ambitious experiences, let us take a look at 10 of the most exciting games still to come in 2025.

Most Exciting Games Still To Come in 2025 Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater

10Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Remake Fever

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

We are back in 2004. The TV show Lost just premiered, Facebook was created, and Naked Snake is about to infiltrate Russia inMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Now, fast-forward in time about 21 years to let us talk aboutMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, an upcoming remake of that classic game.

Most Exciting Games Still To Come in 2025 2XKO

I know that it does not have Hideo Kojima’s involvement, but everything so far indicates thatKonami is making a 1:1 faithful remake– even down to the loading screens, for example – with graphics improvements.

If it turns out that way, revisiting the experience sounds pretty nostalgic and fun. Let us hope that we will not find anything written in Comic Sans this time.

Every League Of Legends Spin-Off Game, Ranked

Want a 1v1?

If you have ever wished thatLeague of Legendswould suddenly turn into a fighting game, your dreams are about to come true with2XKO.

Previously known as “Project L”, it is a 2v2 tag-team fighting game thatwill be free-to-play, likely offering cosmetic items and other purchasable content for revenue.

Most Exciting Games Still To Come in 2025 Donkey Kong Bananza

Every League Of Legends Spin-Off Game, Ranked

League of Legends has generated a lot of spin-off games, here are the best of them!

But what sounds pretty fun about it is that the game’s roster features iconic Champions from the League of Legends – such as Ahri, Darius, Ekko, Jinx, and Illaoi –, and they present a very different and new gameplay from what we know! I mean, take my money. Please.

8Donkey Kong Bananza

The Smashing Bananas

Donkey Kong Bananza

I had the chance to play a little bit ofDonkey Kong Bananzaat the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in New York, and it is different from any Donkey Kong3D platformerwe have seen so far. And now I need it. Badly.

Basically, your goal is to smash everything you see (and want) in the scenario and grab every banana along your way – and it is super fun and relaxing.

It feels like a contained version ofSuper Mario Odyssey, but with DK’s elements and vibe, focusing on the player’s freedom to explore and smash.

7Ghost of Yōtei

Back to Feudal Japan

Ghost of Yotei

Serving almost as a spiritual successor toGhost of Tsushima, the upcomingGhost of Yōteiis Sucker Punch’s next open-world RPG game in Feudal Japan.

But this time, we are exploring the Hokkaido region with a female protagonist called Atsu, with a mysterious wolf companion – and we are already looking forward to petting him.

10 Best Games Set In Feudal Japan, Ranked

This historical setting has become an aesthetic and cultural staple in video games, one featuring some incredible and unforgettable titles.

Also, everything that has been shown in trailers, interviews, and promotional art so far suggests an evolution of the gameplay and systems of the first one, which is pretty exciting.

6Silent Hill f

Survival Horror Comeback

Silent Hill f

It has been 84 years… but we are finally making a comeback for theSilent Hillfranchise, with a new, full release that promises a mix betweenpsychological horrorand Japanese folklore.

Silent Hill f is set in a small, rural town in 1960s Japan, which was turned into a nightmarish place by a mysterious fog (rings a bell?). You control a high school student who needs to face grotesque creatures and challenging puzzles to survive.

As a fan, that description alone has already made me curious and excited about this new chapter. I am hoping for this game to recapture the essence of the franchise. I miss it.

5Mafia: The Old Country

An Offer We Can’t Refuse

Mafia: The Old Country

It is time for us to witness the origins of organized crime withMafia: The Old Country, which is set in Sicily in 1905 – and it is the first game of the franchise to actually happen in an Italian region.

We already have the confirmation that we can look forward to a gritty, brutal storyline that finally details Enzo Favara’s rise within the Torrisi crime family.

But what I want to see is an open-world experience that is smaller in scale yet more detailed, before heading back to a recent era with Mafia 4 in the future.

“Goes Down Smooth”

Fextralife Wiki

Supergiant Games promised us thatHades II’s full release is going to happen at any time in 2025, and we are so ready, baby.

This time, we control Melinoë – the princess of the Underworld, who is the daughter of Hades and Persephone, and also Zagreus’ sister – in a quest to defeat the Titan Chronos.

I got over 70 hours out of it in early access, and I can not wait to spend another round of that in the game’s full version.

3Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

It’s Happening!

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

“Never give up on your dreams” is what they say, right? And I just started believing it sinceMetroid Prime 4: Beyondis finally happening in 2025.

It has been eight years since its initial announcement, and 18 years since the last mainline Metroid Prime game –Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, released in 2007 for Nintendo Wii. So it has been a long journey of waiting for Metroid fans like me.

I got a little taste of Beyond at the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in New York and, boy, how I missed being lost on a completely dangerous and deadly alien planet.

Also, the game perfectly matches the Switch 2’s mouse mode, so am I getting the console just for that? OF COURSE.

2Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Gotta Catch ‘Em All Again

Pokemon Legends: Z-A

I dusted off myPokemon X&Yearlier this year just to get ready forPokemon Legends: Z-A, since the upcoming game is set within our beloved Lumiose City in the Kalos region.

FollowingPokemon Legends: Arceus’ steps, we can expect a brand-new RPG that expands its predecessor’s features with modern twists.

10 Most Underrated Pokemon ROM Hacks You Need To Play

Hidden gems that are well worth checking out.

But I really want to see more Mega Evolutions, Totodile’s comeback as a starter (since he is my favorite), and maybe even be able to feel that this could be our long-awaited pseudo-sequel to X&Y.

1Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong

I want to believe. I need it.

Silksongis the long-awaited sequel toHollow Knight, which we have been waiting for about six years now, with very few updates throughout these years of waiting, making us all doubt its existence – and also joke about it with memes and such.

But Microsoft gave us hope that the wait is about to end. At a recent presentation for Xbox Games Showcase, it was confirmed that the game is going to be released and playable for the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X – and, well, both portables will launch in Holiday 2025.

Either way, I am looking forward to playing as Hornet in another thrilling Metrovania set in a brand-new realm, challenging bosses and mysterious NPCs that communicate through “Bapanadas”.
